Switching Red’s Boy Band Hits All of the Right Nostalgic Notes

Image: PixarIn Pixar’s upcoming Turning Red, a teenage girl named Meilin (Rosalie Chiang) who discovers that she may become a big, red panda whenever she gets stressed or upset out. Among the notable reasons for having the film is that it’s occur Toronto through the early 2000s, and Mei and her friends come in love with the fictional boy band absolutely, 4*Town. Boy bands have already been popular, however they had a robust grip on the global world from the late 90s and early 2000s.
AdvertisementDisney’s been leaning in to the nostalgia of time frame for the movie because the first trailer, and they’ve released the big single for the film now, “Nobody Like U.” It might be compiled by current pop star Billie Eillish and her brother Finneas but it’s retro as hell, from the lyric video being done in the design of old Teen Beat magazines to 4*Town having two Aarons; Aaron T. and Aaron Z. (That magazine absolutely would’ve had a “Which 4*Town member are you currently?” quiz, and I believe I’m a Robaire.) Combined with the lyrics, Finneas lends his voice to the band, alongside Jordan Fisher, Topher Ngo, Grayson Villanueva, and Josh Levi. Who knows if it’ll function as annoyingly catchy hit like “IGNORE IT” or the Encanto song we don’t discuss, but at the minimum, it’ll be considered a song that parents and kids will be in a position to enjoy. There are at the very least two other songs from FINNEAS and Eilish for the film, and given how some fictional bands have were able to remove, like K/DA for League of Legends, maybe this’ll remove big to warrant even more songs after Turning Red happens enough. And when they don’t, you’ll need to accept this single being stuck in your mind for another couple of weeks. Turning Red hits Disney+ and theaters on March 11.Wondering where our Feed went?
