Obi-Wan Kenobi’s new trailer shows him trying to (and failing) train Luke

To celebrate Star Wars Day, May 4th, a second trailer has been released for the Obi Wan Kenobi Disney Plus series. It shows Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan trying convince Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton), to let him train Luke Skywalker. “Like you trained your father?” Owen snaps back at Obi-Wan. The streaming service will premiere Obi-Wan Kenobi on Friday, May 27, and it will run six episodes. The series will be set 10 years after Revenge of the Sith. Obi-Wan is hiding on Tatooine, keeping an eye on Luke Skywalker from far away. The Empire has now taken control of the galaxy, and all Jedi who remain are being hunted and killed by Vader’s Inquisitors. After appearing in several expanded universe stories, these formidable antagonists will make their live-action debut at Kenobi.
Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Hayden Christensen will reprise his role from the prequels as Darth Vader. Despite Darth Maul still being active at this point in Star Wars’ timeline (yes, he was technically cut into half in Episode I but… robot legs), then you’re going be disappointed. Deborah Chow, series director, has confirmed that he is not scheduled to appear.
